Superb

This is without doubt one of the best ever books on ancient religion. A must read for anyone with the slightest interest in the topic. The author explains ancient religious practice from the evidence found in ancient texts and pictures and shows in a convincing way how religion worked before Christianity. I can also recommend The Life of Apollonius of Tyana and The Temple
